Basic White Sauce
Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp butter (double to make thicker)
- 2 Tbsp flour (double to make thicker)
- 1/4 tsp salt
- dash pepper
- 1c milk or half and half
- dash nutmeg (optional)
- 1tsp lemon juice (optional)
Directions
- Melt butter
- Whisk in flour
- Cook over low heat for 2 min
- Slowly add milk, while stiring
- Bring to boil
- Cook over low heat until smooth and thick, while stiring
